Lying Ass Lorne PDF Print E-mail

Favoured : 27

Lorne says that the NDP has been spending ALL the Gas Tax money on roads and new construction. Well, according to the Taxpayer.com, Lorne Calvert is a lying ass.

Download source document here: http://www.taxpayer.com/pdf/2007_Gas_Taxes.pdf

Update:

Hobbes1970 commented: And if you notice, in the years surrounding an election (2001 -2002 and 2002-2003) the amount that was spent went way up only to drop off once they were back in power ... notice how it has gone up starting last year?

Hmm, Vote Buying in election years? NAWWWW! I'd be shocked.

Another reader commented that the math was wrong, thank you for fact checking. I encourage everyone to download the source document and read it entirely. Here is a link to the complete screen shot from the Taxpayer's PDF document.

Still adds up that Lorne is a lying ass.

SGEU - Cheap? Stupid? or Lazy? PDF Print E-mail

Favoured : 14

NEWSFLASH! Another WOLF SIGHTING!

Follow the winding trail.

Cheap

SGEU is a Union 'working for Saskatchewan', funded by the Saskatchewan Government Employee Union member's dues and submitted to the Union to pay member benefits, negotiators, lawyers, office staff, office supplies, postage, and the like. Expenses add up, and its cheap keeping office and administration costs down by communicating with membership and the world via Internet.

Stupid

Communication with membership is an important function of union organizations. With today's rapidly moving society, you have to communicate with members not only through Shop Stewards, bulletin boards and newsletters, but by fax, email and yes, even via web page.

SGEU has a web site located here. Read about SGEU on their about us page located here and learn more about their history here. If you are so inclined, you can download a copy of SGEU's History book "For Dignity, Equality, and Justice' by Doug Taylor here a chapter at a time.

Please note, the folks at SGEU outsource online document storage to a firm called Web Networks. Now, it doesn't take too much skill to upload documents into your own web site. Outsourcing a service to a company that you can keep in house just seems stupid to me (and could save SGEU some money - cheap too, right?)

Lazy

Previously, No Democratic Process blogged an article 'How to Influence 2 Percent of the Entire Population' which related how Unions are expressing their election issues and included a link to a SGEU distributed document entitled 'Saskatchewan Election - a Guide for SGEU Members'

Now, any organization that represents 2 percent of Saskatchewan's 'almost a million' people should have enough cash to buy what they need, they should have the staff to process paper work, including accountants to make sure what they use is bought and paid for. Or are they?

Astute readers who downloaded Election Guide for SGEU Members document spotted a Wolf, and immediately reported a sighting included on THE VERY LAST PAGE OF THE PDF VERSION OF SGEU's GUIDE.

How to influence 2 percent of the entire population PDF Print E-mail

Why is it certain crown corporations and government agencies must stop all advertising and communications for fear of being perceived as 'unduly influencing an election' while Unions can carry on with wild abandon? They call it freedom of speech, some call it blatant partisan politics.

It's not like they are telling you how to vote: 'Nudge nudge, scare tactic, veiled threat'

No, not at all.

And oh yeah, they are doing it with their member's money.

From page 11: ''Saskatchewan people have come to rely on our crown corporations'
....like crack addicts have come to rely on their dealer(s).

What part of 'NO' do you not understand? PDF Print E-mail

Favoured : 17

Well, after getting caught running unlicensed software on www.sameoldsaskparty.ca, the comments are coming out.

GiantPoliticalMouse said: Thanks for the hat tip, but I am a little confused. You say that the licencing says, "however you must not remove the links to CMSimple.dk & DotcomWebDesign.com."
But the links were not removed, were they? I mean, you point to the fact that the links were working, you click on them to prove the whole crux of your argument.
Perhaps the link is now more visible, which is a good thing, but the link was always there, and thus the terms of the license were always complied with.
Note the use of the term "more" visible as again, with the mouseovers left intact, the link was always "visible"'

And from the software Developer's License FAQ page:

'I already have a link - does it really have to be visible?

I don't believe in ghosts. When it is stated in the licence, that you need to have a link, of course it has to be visible, readable and useable. Elsewise purchase a commercial licence.'

Nice of you to split hairs, but, like the developer says: 'it has to be visible'. What part of VISIBLE did you NOT understand? What part of 'NO' do you NOT understand?

Furthermore, if the NDP's actions WERE LEGAL, why did the powers that be CHANGE THE WEB SITE so that now the links ARE VISIBLE?

UPDATE

This morning we received the following email from Peter, the developer of CMSimple.dk

'I do not know who are political asses or donkeys in your election, but I believe that, when political parties are using software against the given licence terms, it is a good indication of what kind of disrespect they have for intellectual rights.

I would never vote on a party practicing illegal use of software, unless that they would try to settle any error they may have done unintentional by paying compensation to the copyright owners.

I haven't been offered niether paid any licence fee for the period of time they have been using my CMS against the free license terms. It seems like this party have no conscience.

Sincerely Peter
cmsimple.dk'

Lorne, it would appear the developer is seeking his just compensation. Could you or your party open your checkbook and do the right thing?

*sound of crickets chirping*

h/t and h/t

Before the campaign even began, a controversial web site was created:

http://www.sameoldsaskparty.ca

Yesterday, the Sask Party retaliated with http://www.calvertdelivers.com

We may as well tell you right now, this is going to get GEEKY. Please find the nearest nerd and keep him close, you may need one. Click the image to be shown a larger size image in a separate window (for added detail).

Take a good close look at the Same Old Sask Party web site.

the Same Old Sask Party web site advises you to to keep a sharp eye out for that nasty wolf in sheep's clothing. Look real close, just like Lorne wants you to look at the Sask Party. See anything?

No?

Let's keep looking.

In the image below, we come to the 'money shot' statement, 'Say NO to the Sask Party Hidden agenda.

Seen any wolves in sheep's clothing yet?

Well, they are hiding in places you would never expect them to be, and in places only a few people would know where to look.

You might want to grab your geek now.

In Internet Explorer, go to 'View', then 'Source'. In Firefox press 'CTRL'+'U'. You will see a bunch of what Geeks call 'Code'. In this code, there is not only ONE, but TWO wolves in Sheep's clothing.

We found that the Same Old Sask Party web site runs on a content management system called CMSimple from http://www.cmsimple.dk

We also found that the template 'Greenshades' was used in the building of this web site.

We did some research and found what 'Greenshades' looked like before it became all dipped up in Sheep and Wolves. We found a screen shot below:

'Greenshades came from a web site called DotcomWebDesign.com. We visited this web site and found the following license terms:

'Template copyright violation

License terms for the template are here: http://www.dotcomwebdesign.com/?Purchase-A-Licence

1. General Use - FREE
Download and use our website templates for free of any costs, however you must not remove the links to CMSimple.dk & DotcomWebDesign.com.

We offer these templates as instant downloads in good faith and trust that you will not remove our links without purchasing the licenses in the options below.

WARNING: Removing the "powered by cmsimple" and or "dotcomwebdesign" - links without purchasing the required licences, is a violation of the licence. This also applies testing purposes.

Violating the licence may result in a complaint without any prior warning to the internet service providers hosting the illegal use of this software.

Violating the licence may result in a claim for compensation not less than $US 200- for a commercial licence and claims handling.

Please be aware that all cmsimple installations are monitored via cmsimple.dk

So, we went back to www.sameoldsaskparty.ca and we read all the source code for the page, and we found this "href="" _fcksavedurl="">" _fcksavedurl="">" _fcksavedurl="">" _fcksavedurl="">" _fcksavedurl="">" _fcksavedurl="">" _fcksavedurl="">" _fcksavedurl="">" target="_blank" title="Design By Dotcomwebdesign.com" alt="Design By Dotcomwebdesign.com"" ....

...and there is a hidden link in the web site where illustrated in the picture above. Go to www.sameoldsaskparty.ca and try to find it yourself. If you find one, you may find...

This was rather curious, so we visited the Content Management Web Site and found licensing terms there.

'CMSimple is free to use, but only if a link to cmsimple.dk is kept visible in the template for the site. If you want to remove or hide the link to cmsimple.dk from your pages, you must purchase a commercial licence for the site.'

Peter even states in his License FAQ : 'You may not change or delete the copyright notice in the comment of the files, but please add the information, that the site is licensed by you or your company.'

No such statement exists in the www.sameoldsaskparty.ca source code.

We did find this statement: href="http://www.cmsimple.dk" target="_blank" title="Powered By CMSimple.dk" alt="Powered By CMSimple.dk"

and when we visit the page, we find a hidden hyper link (see image below).

We find TWO hidden live links on the SameOldSaskParty web site, BOTH of which violate the license agreement of the template and software developer.

Have we found a wolf or two in sheep's clothing?

Let's CHECK!

The software developer has an online license check on his web site here.

We type in the domain name SameOldSaskParty.ca........

and we receive a result .......

We emailed the developer of the template over in Australia to see if he had a record of a paid license for http://www.sameoldsaskparty.ca and we received the following answer...

Oh, it seems that the sameoldsaskparty web site might have a licensing issue! Soon after, we receive another follow up email from the template developer stating:

I guess either someone will be producing a receipt, or making those live links visible to conform to the licensing agreement. We will keep you updated as the story develops.

UPDATE: As of 12:30 am C.S.T., the SameOldSaskParty web site has been updated. Suddenly, credit where credit due is NOW being given.

Rather raise the questions:

1) Why have the NDP knowingly been using unlicensed software and design for months?
2) Will Lorne Calvert publicly acknowledge and apologize for using unlicensed software?

Whats good for the goose PDF Print E-mail

Doing the weekend chores, and over the radio I hear one of the NDP cronies whining that they want www.calvertdelivers.com changed to modify 'inaccuracies'.

Inaccuracies, yeah, right. Turn about IS fair play.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it the NDP firing the first shot with www.sameoldsaskparty.ca? When it comes down to calling the kettle black, need one point out http://ndpcaucus.sk.ca/saskparty ? Let's not forget the grassroots support of the Canadian Leftist movement over at Rabble.

What's good the goose, is good for the gander. So sorry that shining a little light on your record gets under your skin. All I can really think to say is....

Waaah.
